In a not-so-distant future, Earth has welcomed a new extraterrestrial species known as the "New People," who, after landing in a spaceship, have become part of human society. However, coexisting between both groups is anything but easy. The story follows a human police officer, Matt Sykes, who feels frustrated and looked down upon by his superiors due to their resentment towards the newcomers. But his life takes an unexpected turn when he is forced to work with an alien partner, Sam Francisco, a New Person determined to prove that, despite their differences, he can be an excellent officer.
As Matt and Sam navigate the dangerous and unequal dynamics of the city, they become embroiled in a crime plot involving drug traffickers who have found a way to exploit the peculiarities of New People biology for their own dark purposes. As both characters face criticism and prejudice, they forge an unlikely friendship and challenge the norms of a society filled with distrust. Together, they must unravel a conspiracy that threatens not only their lives but also the precarious peace between humans and New People. Throughout the story, themes of racism, identity, and acceptance are explored in a style that blends action and humor, all while keeping in mind the message about the importance of diversity.
