In a small village in Greece, a young man named Stavros dreams of escaping poverty and seeking a better life in the United States. The story begins in the 1890s, when his family, marked by hopelessness and the struggle to survive, fears that the future will be even darker. Living in difficult conditions is not enough to extinguish the fire of his ambition.

With the support of his uncle, a man who has found success in America, Stavros embarks on a perilous journey in search of the "American Dream." But the road is fraught with obstacles that test him: betrayals, the pressure of his surroundings, and those moments when hope seems to fade away. In his odyssey, he meets endearing and bitter characters who are also looking for their place in the world. His attempts to cross the ocean are thwarted time and again, and each effort confronts him with the harsh reality of immigration.

The film, surprisingly emotional, tells not only the physical journey of Stavros but also his internal transformation. As the plot unfolds, the viewer is immersed in the complexities of identity, sacrifice, and family love. Set against a backdrop of beautiful Greek landscapes and the hustle and bustle of American life, this story resonates with anyone who has dreamed of leaving their past behind in search of a brighter future.
