In a small town in California, a young boy named Roger McAlister dreams of seeing his baseball team, the California Angels, win the World Series. However, his life becomes complicated when his father abandons him, promising to return only if the Angels achieve a victory. Amid his despair, Roger prays to God for help so that his team can improve. To his surprise, his prayer is answered. Thus, a group of angels decides to intervene and assist the players, led by the charismatic yet unmotivated pitcher, Al LeBow.
As the Angels begin to win games astonishingly thanks to divine intervention, Roger becomes the link between the team and their new supernatural strength. The enthusiastic protagonist faces the skepticism of the manager and the players, who must learn to believe in the impossible. Roger also finds himself struggling to understand the meaning of family and hope, as his relationship with his father becomes a crucial part of his journey.
With a lovable cast that includes Danny Glover as the manager and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Roger, the film blends comedy, sports, and a touch of magic, delivering a heartfelt message about faith, friendship, and perseverance. With each game, the young boy realizes that miracles can happen if one has the courage to believe.
