To Be Twenty

In the bustling heart of Rome, a group of young people faces the complexities of adolescence and the search for identity in a world that seems not to turn its back on them. At the center of this story is a young woman named Mara, who has just turned 20 and feels the pressure to grow up and find her place in society. Caught between her family's expectations and her own dreams, Mara embarks on a journey of self-discovery that will lead her to meet a diverse group of friends: an idealistic poet, a rebellious musician, and a free-spirited girl who defies the norms.

Together, they embark on nighttime adventures through the city's illuminated streets, exploring the fleeting pleasures of youth: parties, secret romances, and the burning desire to experience the world. As their stories intertwine, each of them confronts their own demons and the realities of adulthood that are inexorably approaching. The nostalgia of adolescence blends with the need to mature, blurring the lines between carefree fun and the responsibilities they will soon have to assume.

With a vibrant visual style and a lively soundtrack that evokes the energy of the era, this film is a heartfelt and honest portrayal of youth, a reminder that life sometimes feels like a constant tug-of-war between the desire for freedom and the inevitable arrival of reality.
