A group of young filmmakers embarks on a terrifying adventure as they venture into the dark woods of Burkittsville, Maryland, to document the legend of a local witch that has tormented the community for centuries. Heather, the project’s director, is determined to capture the essence of the myth, convincing her friends Josh and Mike to join her on this journey. Armed with cameras and a sense of adventure, they delve into the forest, where they quickly realize the atmosphere is denser and more unsettling than they had imagined.
As the days progress, the group begins to experience strange occurrences: inexplicable noises at night, strange figures in the distance, and a growing sense of disorientation. Tensions rise when they become lost, and the lack of connection to the outside world leaves them at the mercy of their own fears. As uncertainty mounts, even camaraderie turns into suspicion. Witchcraft evolves from mere myth; it becomes a palpable threat that haunts their journey. Desperation takes hold of them, and the line between reality and madness starts to blur. Trapped in a labyrinth of fear, they confront their own history and what lurks in the shadows of the forest. The experience transforms into a horrifying journey into the unknown, where true anguish lies in what cannot be seen.
