The Cat and the Canary

In a dark and eerie mansion, a group of family members gathers after the death of the eccentric millionaire Cyrus West. The visit, steeped in tension and mystery, has a clear purpose: to discover who will inherit his vast fortune. However, what begins as a simple meeting turns into a series of terrifying yet comedic events when the will reveals an intriguing clause: the new heir must remain in the mansion until midnight. With the full moon illuminating the gloomy rooms and echoes of laughter and wailing resonating in the darkness, the situation becomes increasingly unsettling.

As the night progresses, strange phenomena begin to occur: inexplicable noises, a mysterious figure lurking in the hallways, and, most disturbingly, the appearance of a supposed “shadow” of the late patriarch. Among the heirs is a beautiful and vulnerable engineer, who becomes the target of a truth-seeking quest amid jealousy, ambitions, and family secrets. Each character brings their own dose of madness, maintaining the tension between humor and horror. With a final twist that no one expects, the film showcases the wit of classic horror-comedy, leaving the audience on edge and wondering who will ultimately come out on top. What initially seemed like a simple family gathering soon transforms into a hilarious and spine-chilling game of cat and mouse.
