In the year 117 A.D., in the heart of Scotland, a group of Roman soldiers faces the greatest challenge of their lives. The IX Hispana Legion, famous for its bravery, ventures into enemy territory with the mission of crushing the rebellion of the Celts led by the British warrior, Gallo. What begins as a simple reconnaissance mission quickly turns into a deadly trap when the Romans are ambushed by rebel troops. Chaos erupts, and the legion is virtually annihilated, leaving a few aimless survivors behind.
Centurion Marcus Flavius Aquila, a battle-hardened soldier, finds himself caught in the middle of this disaster. Along with a small group of comrades—each with their own story and motivations—they must traverse a hostile land while being pursued by Celtic warriors. As they struggle against the harsh elements and their own injuries, they must find a way back to civilization, facing not only their enemies but also the betrayal and distrust that arise among them.
Amid the brutality of war and moral dilemmas, the survivors are forced to rethink what loyalty and sacrifice truly mean. As each new obstacle presents itself, the fight for survival becomes a race against time, where every decision could mean life or death. In the end, the story is not just about war, but about resilience and camaraderie in the most difficult circumstances.
