On any given day, Dante Hicks, a young man working at a convenience store, grapples with the chaos of his job while trying to make sense of his existence. Trapped in a monotonous routine, he feels frustrated by his place in the world. Amid his shift, he encounters a series of peculiar customers and absurd situations that range from comical to outrageous, revealing the small craziness of everyday life.
On the other hand, his friend Randal Graves, who works at the adjacent video store, doesnβt help to improve things. Randal is an irresponsible, sarcastic anti-hero who lives to create trouble and unleashes chaos around him. Together, the two friends reflect on love, friendship, and the future as they deal with their own inner demons.
The film takes us through a mosaic of humorous conversations and unusual situations that reflect the lives of young people in the 1990s. With a candid and often provocative approach, Dante comes to realize that self-examination is inevitable and that the pursuit of personal fulfillment does not always have a clear answer. At the end of the day, the experiences they share, the decisions they make, and their interactions with their crazy colleagues and customers teach them some valuable lessons about who they are and who they want to become.
