The Cocoanuts

In a sunny beach resort in Florida, a group of peculiar characters becomes intertwined in a series of comedic entanglements and misunderstandings. It all begins when a greedy real estate developer seeks to sell a plot of land filled with dreams to unsuspecting tourists. However, the arrival of a group of friends who are more interested in having fun than buying properties jeopardizes his plans.

Among them is a cunning con artist trying to impersonate a peanut oil magnate. Alongside him are a couple of young romantics caught up in a whirlwind of misunderstandings; and a private detective who, instead of solving crimes, seems to make the situation worse with his clumsy attempts to help. As the confusions escalate, secrets are unveiled and the developer's plans are threatened, everything turns into a carnival of absurd situations, including a hilarious auction where everything from furniture to coconuts is sold to the highest bidder.

The interactions between the characters reveal each one's quirks and strange dynamics, creating a mosaic of humor that contrasts with the backdrop of 1920s capitalism. However, the true essence of the film lies in its slapstick and visual gags, leaving the audience laughing while questioning the nature of greed and the human desire for connection in a world filled with madness.
