In a country where temperatures never drop below 30 degrees, a group of misfits embarks on an adventure that defies common sense. After the disqualification of sprinter Derice Bannock at the 1988 Olympic Games, he and his friend Sanka Coffie decide they won't give up so easily and dream of participating in the Olympics, but in an unconventional discipline: bobsleigh. With the help of the strict but disillusioned former bobsleigh team coach, Irv Blitzer, who is also seeking redemption, they form an unlikely team that includes two eccentric athletes: the Kangaroo and the carefree Sanka.
While the idea of a Jamaican bobsled team seems like a joke, the four face a host of obstacles, from lack of experience and training to the prejudices of other competitors. The film mixes laughter with moments of effort and overcoming challenges, showing us that friendship and determination can break through the toughest barriers. With a vibrant backdrop that captures the essence of Jamaica, the plot takes us on their journey filled with hilarious moments and unexpected challenges as the characters learn not only to handle their sled but also to confront their own fears. Ultimately, the group discovers that winning is not just a number, but the journey and the connections they forge along the way toward their Olympic dreams.
