Crack in the World

In a not-so-distant future, an ambitious scientist is determined to find an inexhaustible and clean source of energy, so he embarks on a risky project aimed at drilling into the Earth's crust to access the heat of the core. However, his obsession with technological advancement leads him to ignore the warnings of his colleagues about the potential dangers of his experiment. As the drilling progresses, unimaginable dangers begin to arise.

Tensions mount when the scientists, led by a skeptical and insightful colleague, discover that the increasing pressure in the crust could trigger a catastrophic collapse of the Earth's structure. What initially seemed like a revolutionary project soon turns into a race against time to contain an impending disaster. As the world is threatened by volcanic eruptions and devastating earthquakes, the main characters must confront not only natural challenges but also their own ambitions and selfishness.

As chaos unfolds, loyalties are tested, and unexpected betrayals are revealed. Time is running out, and the protagonists struggle to avert the disaster, while the dangers of human power in creating uncontrolled technology become a heart-wrenching act of redemption or doom. The film raises, in a science fiction context, questions about the ethics of science and the irresponsibilities that can arise from the desire to dominate nature.
