In the depths of a post-World War I Vienna, the lives of its inhabitants intertwine in an old and enigmatic building. The story centers around Ruth, a young dreamer who longs to escape her monotonous day-to-day life and discover true freedom. Upon moving into an apartment in the iconic building, she finds herself surrounded by peculiar characters: a frustrated artist struggling to find his voice, an elderly woman harboring secrets from the past, and a mysterious man who seems to know more than he lets on.

As Ruth delves deeper into this microcosm, she discovers that the building holds a dark history, filled with lost loves and betrayals that resonate within its walls. The tenants begin to share their tales, creating a kind of community where pain and hope coexist. However, her search for identity and belonging is threatened by the external tensions of a wounded society, where the echoes of war still linger.

The atmosphere is dense and rich in symbolism, where the past and present intertwine. Each room houses not only objects but also memories that mark its residents. With cinematography that captures the essence of the era, the film invites viewers to reflect on the cycle of suffering and redemption, showing how life can find a way to break through even in the most unexpected places.
