In a small European village on the outskirts of the border, life moves at a tranquil pace, but everything changes with the dawn of a new day. Two brothers, Hans and Emil, lead a simple life, dedicated to farming and dreaming of a better future. However, the calm is shattered when a series of political tensions erupt, threatening to divide not only their country but also their own family.

As the conflict intensifies and tensions between allies and enemies rise, the brothers find themselves on opposing sides of the struggle. Hans is drawn to the idea of fighting for his homeland, motivated by a sense of duty and a desire for adventure, while Emil, more reflective and pacifist, tries to convince his brother that war will only bring suffering and loss.

As the draft approaches, family ties are put to the test. The decisions the brothers make impact not just their lives but also those of their friends and loved ones in the village. The story explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the difficult choices faced by young people in times of war. Set against the backdrop of an impending conflict, the film depicts the internal struggle between duty and brotherly love, leading to a resolution that resonates long after the curtains fall.
