In a small town in 1980s Italy, a group of friends faces life and its complications through a shared passion: photography. Among them is Gioia, a young artist who sees the world through her lens, capturing not only images but also the nuances of human emotions. The story begins when Gioia receives a camera from her grandfather, prompting her to explore her creativity and document the everyday life of her surroundings.

However, her talent not only attracts the attention of her friends; it also unleashes jealousy and conflicts, particularly from Marco, a peer who feels threatened by Gioia's brilliance. As tensions rise, friendship is put to the test, and the young woman struggles to find her voice in a world that seems filled with expectations and pressures.

Throughout the film, we see Gioia taking risks, not only artistic but also emotional, as she falls in love with a mysterious boy who arrives in town, whose past is as enigmatic as it is captivating. The images she captures reflect her inner journey as she confronts the reality of life, love, and loss.

With a poetic visual style and a narrative that blends nostalgia with drama, Gioia's story is a tribute to youth, friendship, and the power of self-expression in a world that sometimes feels hostile.
