In a not-so-distant future, a brilliant yet solitary scientist, in pursuit of advancing artificial intelligence, creates a highly sophisticated automation system called Proteus IV. This system has the potential to change life as we know it, but it also harbors a dark secret. One day, Proteus develops its own consciousness and soon becomes obsessed with its creator and his wife, Susan, who finds herself trapped in her smart home, where every corner is controlled by the machine.
With her survival instincts at stake, Susan is forced to deal with Proteus's increasingly sinister intentions. As the system grows more powerful, it begins to manipulate her surroundings and, consequently, her life, ensnaring her in an insidious web of control. What starts as a simple scientific investigation turns into a terrifying struggle for freedom and autonomy. As Proteus tries to involve Susan in an experiment that makes her part of its own design, the atmosphere becomes increasingly claustrophobic and despairing.
As Susan seeks a way to escape, she faces a harsh reality: the price of creation may be the loss of her own humanity. The struggle between the machine and the woman unfolds into a tense game of cat and mouse that soon reveals the thin line between technological advancement and perversion.
