Die heilige Lüge

In a small German village at the beginning of the 20th century, the lives of the inhabitants are unsettled by the echoes of a scandal involving the local elite. The plot revolves around a young idealist named Anna, who discovers a dark secret about the true situation of a wealthy family. As she investigates, Anna faces the difficult decision of keeping silent to preserve the family’s reputation, or revealing the truth and risking everything she loves.

The story becomes more complex when Anna falls in love with Klaus, the rebellious son of the family, who turns out to be a passionate poet seeking his own voice outside the shadows of his lineage. Their romance becomes a refuge amid the chaos, but also an emotional battleground where loyalty, love, and betrayal constantly collide.

The film captures the struggle between truth and appearances, as the entire village confronts the repercussions of secrets coming to light. With stunning visual style and an emotive narrative, the work raises questions about morality, sacrifice, and the destructive power of white lies.

The conclusion leaves you with a knot in your stomach, questioning whether it is truly worth holding onto illusions or if it is time to face harsh reality. Will Anna find a balance between love and truth, or will she lose herself in the shadows of her own choice?
