Dinner for One

In an elegant British mansion, an elderly aristocrat, Miss Sophie, celebrates her birthday with an extravagant banquet attended only by her loyal butler, James. The peculiarity of the celebration lies in the fact that, despite losing all her friends, Miss Sophie pretends they are present at the table, each with their own place and role. As dinner progresses, the interaction between Miss Sophie and her absent friends becomes increasingly hilarious and absurd.

James, a true professional in his work, takes on the task of serving the supposed guests, engaging in conversations and toasting continually due to the peculiar ritual they have established. However, the situation complicates as the drinks begin to take effect. Each time James carries out a round of toasts, the pace quickens, and the scene grows more chaotic. Miss Sophie’s imaginary characters reveal their personalities through humor, while James, in his effort to maintain composure, ends up being the true engine of laughter.

With a strong touch of slapstick and physical comedy, this endearing story turns into a delightful role-playing game that challenges social conventions and reminds us of the warmth of friendship, as well as the determination to find joy even in solitude. The chemistry between Miss Sophie and James is the heart of this charming narrative.
