In a village in China during the 1940s, the lives of the inhabitants change drastically with the Japanese invasion. The story follows a young girl named Lotus, who is captured along with her family by Japanese soldiers. Amidst the war and chaos, Lotus must fight for her survival and that of her loved ones. Her life becomes a daily struggle between the desire to live and the brutality of the conflict surrounding her.

As Lotus faces misery, she also realizes that her indomitable spirit makes her a natural leader among the women of the village who seek to resist. As they come together, they forge a strong bond and decide to combat oppression, facing the dangers posed by the Japanese army. The story explores these women's struggle for freedom and justice, while also revealing the moral dilemmas they face, such as betrayal and loyalty.

Set against the backdrop of a devastating conflict, the plot unfolds with moments of hope, love, and sacrifice. Lotus becomes a symbol of resistance and of the Chinese people's power to fight for their homeland. The film intertwines drama, action, and profound reflection on the cost of war and the indomitable human spirit in times of adversity, leaving the viewer in awe of resilience in the face of oppression.
