Drowning Mona

In a quiet town in New York, the lives of its residents take an unexpected turn when the despotic and egocentric Mona Dearly is found dead in her car, which has sunk in a river. As the circumstances surrounding her death unfold, each character in this dark comedy becomes a potential suspect. From her selfless son to her resentful ex-husband, everyone seems to have reasons to wish for her disappearance.

The local detective, played by a charismatic actor, finds himself caught in a whirlwind of alliances and dark secrets as he attempts to piece together a puzzle that seems to have more pieces than he can handle. With each scene, hilarity and tension escalate as the intricacies of Mona's life are revealed, showcasing an unfaithful wife, envious friends, and a community full of hypocrisies. The comedic interactions, misunderstandings, and unexpected revelations lead the detective to question not only the motive behind the murder but also the relationships and loyalties that have been woven into this peculiar community.

With a touch of social satire, the characters range from the absurd to the endearing, and the dark humor leaves a mark on the portrayal of love and hate that can coexist in the same place. In the end, the mystery unfolds in a surprising manner, leaving everyone wondering: who truly wanted to see Mona sink?
