In the glamorous yet deceptive French Riviera, a cunning count of dubious ancestry dedicates himself to seducing wealthy women while sustaining a luxurious and dissolute lifestyle. With his elegant appearance and undeniable charisma, he uses his charm to attract rich tourists, promising them an ideal love that ultimately seeks only their fortune. However, this game of deception takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a young and innocent heiress looking to escape the dull routine of her life.

The count, alongside his accomplices—a scheming wife and a resentful mother—devise an elaborate plan to seduce the young woman and appropriate her immense wealth. Yet, what begins as a plot of manipulation spirals into a cycle of tensions and betrayals. As the local governor becomes aware of the count's schemes, a witch hunt ensues involving the police, throwing everyone into a game of cat and mouse where cunning becomes the only weapon.

Set against a backdrop capable of revealing hidden secrets and an atmosphere of glamour and intrigue, the film challenges the social norms of the era, exploring the limits of ambition, greed, and true love, all wrapped in an aura of mystery that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.
