Charley Brewster is a teenager who has everything a boy could wish for: a great group of friends, a beautiful girlfriend, and the thrill of being a young man in his senior year of high school. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious new neighbor, Jerry, moves into the house next door. At first, Charley is excited about his new neighbor and his confident attitude, but he soon starts to notice strange things. People in the neighborhood are disappearing, and after investigating a bit more, Charley realizes that Jerry is actually a bloodthirsty vampire who has been hunting around him.
Desperate and with no one to turn to, Charley decides he needs help. He seeks out Peter Vincent, a famous vampire hunter and supernatural expert who turns out to be more of a fraud than a true warrior against creatures of the night.
