In a small and impoverished town in Kentucky, a group of coal miners faces a powerful company that has decided to cut wages and improve working conditions at the expense of the workers' dignity. Documentaries like this often showcase the human side amid brutal struggles, and this one is no exception. The daily lives of these men and women are interrupted by the uncertainty of the strike as they fight for a fair contract that ensures them a living wage and guarantees for their health and safety at work.

The tension escalates when the community comes together, forming barricades against the oppression of the company. The wife of one of the miners, despite her painful past, becomes a key figure, representing the resistance and courage needed to confront corporate tyranny. However, the struggle is not just that of the men in the mines, but of the entire community, which is forced to live with the fear and threat of violence from both the police and the company's representatives.

With a heart-wrenching and profound focus, this story reveals the complexities of union solidarity and shows how the fight for social justice can unite people in unexpected ways. As clashes arise and passions are unleashed, the documentary explores the tenacity and indomitable spirit of those who refuse to give up.
