In a typical 1980s suburb, a young man named Bobby Fenton is the epitome of teenage angst. Accustomed to feeling like an “outsider,” he feels lost and directionless until a tragic accident leads him to an afterlife existence. However, he is not alone in this strange purgatory; he encounters a charismatic spirit named Jack, an old-school boy from the 1960s who still carries the soul of a “rebel” in his heart.
Jack decides to help Bobby navigate his complicated life. Through funny and heartfelt situations, he teaches him to trust himself and to find his unique personality. As Bobby tries to succeed in dance and in his social life, Jack pushes him to tap into his true potential. From giving him advice on how to win over the most popular girl in school to standing up to a group of bullies, their friendship becomes an exciting journey of both overcoming challenges and self-discovery.
However, the lessons Bobby learns are not always easy, and as his confidence grows, so does the pressure. Eventually, he must confront the most painful moment of his life, questioning not only his bravery but also what it truly means to live. Amongst laughter and tears, both characters reinvent themselves as they discover that perhaps life, even after death, has a lesson or two to offer.
