Up to His Ears

In a vibrant and chaotic mid-20th century China, a young Parisian named François, raised in the luxuries of Western life, embarks on an unexpected journey when his mother asks him to return to his roots and help reclaim a valuable family legacy. With a touch of humor and a healthy dose of cultural misunderstanding, François arrives in a country full of contrasts, where modernity and tradition clash in hilariously unexpected ways.

Before long, he finds himself entangled in a series of misadventures and mix-ups that lead him to cross paths with a cast of eccentric characters: a beautiful and cunning woman who mistakes him for a famous writer, a strict father who has other ideas about François' future, and a gang of thieves who think he might be their ticket to a heist. As he tries to navigate a world he doesn't fully understand and deal with his family's expectations, our protagonist faces a dilemma between the comfortable life he's accustomed to and the search for an authentic identity.

With a comedic tone and a sprinkle of romance, this adventure traverses the vibrant landscapes and cultural dilemmas of the era's China, taking us on a journey that challenges both logic and the perception of what "coming home" truly means. A blend of laughter, love, and personal discovery that leaves the audience craving more.
