In the vibrant world of the Italian Riviera, a group of American sailors embarks on an adventure filled with twists and laughter. When young Lieutenant Matt Sargent discovers a betting machine capable of predicting the outcomes of boat races, his ambitions of striking it rich skyrocket. Together with his friends, the cunning Bob and the carefree Lou, they decide to use the machine to make their fortune, treating it like a card game.

However, what begins as a simple plan quickly becomes complicated. As news of their successes spreads, unwanted attention from military superiors and local skeptics threatens to ruin their fun. Additionally, the romance between Sargent and the beautiful local lady, the girlfriend of the competition's leader, adds a touch of tension to the mix. Amid improvised plans, romantic entanglements, and the constant struggle to keep their unconventional winning method a secret, the three friends find themselves in hilarious situations and a series of misunderstandings.

Set against a picturesque backdrop and featuring a sparkling blend of comedy and romance, this caper from the golden age of cinema prompts us to reflect on friendship, dreams, and the surprises life has in store. In the end, the sailors will learn that the true jackpot is not just money, but the unforgettable experiences shared with those they love most.
