In this hilarious comedy, a medieval knight and his loyal servant are accidentally transported to the modern 21st century when a spell goes wrong. The story begins in 12th century France, where the noble and brave Duke Thibault is the pride of the kingdom. However, everything changes when he decides to help a beautiful damsel in distress and ends up being the victim of an evil sorcerer. The magic hurls him into a completely different world: bustling and chaotic New York City.
Landing in a context where technology and fast food culture reign supreme, Thibault (played by Jean Reno) and his escapist assistant (Christian Clavier) find themselves completely out of place. Barely familiar with cell phones and cars, they embark on a series of comedic and disastrous adventures while trying to adapt to their new surroundings. What surprises them the most are modern people's manners, the eccentricities of urban life, and, of course, the fast-paced rhythm of everyday life.
Everything complicates when the duke falls in love with a young woman named Julia, who gets caught up in the frenzy of his quest to return home. While trying to win her heart, Thibault must also face the dangers of a world he does not understand. Amid misunderstandings and moments of laughter, the film explores the struggle between tradition and modernity, showing that, despite the centuries, love always finds its way.
