The Kings of Summer

Imagine a summer that completely changes your perspective on life and friendship. In this story, three teenagers tired of the rules and monotony of suburban life decide to escape and build their own refuge in the woods. Joe, a boy with a troubled relationship with his father, feels trapped in a world where nothing seems to understand him. Together with his friend Patrick, an eccentric guy who dreams of being a great conqueror, and the unpredictable Kevin, they embark on an epic adventure of self-discovery.

As they build their cabin, those long and carefree summer days become a blend of laughter, challenges, and moments of reflection. Freed from the pressures of society and family expectations, they face not only the struggle for survival in nature but also unexpected tensions in their relationships. While the spirit of freedom is intoxicating, reality soon reminds them that life outside their comfort zone is not so simple.

With a fresh visual style and a mix of comedy and drama, this film captures the essence of youth, friendship, and the search for identity. As summer draws to a close, Joe must decide whether his new life is worth it in light of the family ties he cannot ignore. Sometimes, growing up means making difficult decisions and confronting what you have left behind.
