On a rainy morning in Stockholm, a group of passengers on a tram becomes witnesses to a brutal murder. Amid the chaos, one of the city's most experienced police officers, who struggles with his own inner demons, is drawn into the investigation. This officer, a cynical and melancholic man, finds himself in a sea of suspicions and betrayals as he attempts to unravel the mystery behind the crime.

The victim, a journalist, leads a life filled with secrets and half-revealed truths. As the detective delves deeper into his life, he uncovers a web of corruption, complicated relationships, and a network of criminals operating in the shadows of Swedish society. With the help of his partner, a younger and more optimistic officer, the detective sheds layers of falsehoods. However, he is not only faced with dangerous criminals; he also has to contend with a police system that doesn't always have his back.

With each clue he follows, the weight of his past becomes heavier, and his decisions are influenced by the pain of experiences he would rather forget. As the case progresses, so does his relationship with his partner, who represents everything he might have been. This tension-filled thriller, laden with unexpected twists, is an exploration of redemption, friendship, and the challenges of truth in a dark world.
