In occupied France in 1942, two very different men are forced to collaborate to survive and help a group of refugees escape from the Nazi clutches. Pierre, a dreamy janitor at a theater in Paris with a life full of illusions and artistic yearnings, finds himself in a bind when he accidentally crosses paths with a German squad. Just when he thinks the situation can't get any worse, he runs into Gustave, a tough, cynical veteran who has lost faith in humanity.
The improvised duo, more out of necessity than choice, sets in motion a crazy plan that takes them through corners of the city where danger lurks around every corner. With a touch of humor and bravery, they must evade patrols, hide the refugees, and thwart the Nazis' plans, all while confronting their own internal demons: Pierre has to learn to be a true hero, while Gustave grapples with his dark past. As their relationship strengthens, they both discover that friendship and solidarity can emerge even in the darkest of times.
Their journey through the streets of Paris, filled with unexpected twists, laughter, and a few tears, teaches them that it's not just about physical freedom, but also about finding a reason to keep fighting for what is right. This experience will transform them forever, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
