The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid (2023) is a live-action adaptation of the Disney classic. The story follows Ariel (Halle Bailey), the youngest daughter of King Triton (Javier Bardem), who has a deep fascination with the human world. Despite her father's warnings, Ariel saves Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) from a shipwreck and falls madly in love with him. Wanting to be with him, she makes a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), who gives her human legs in exchange for her voice. However, if she does not get true love's kiss before sunset on the third day, she will be trapped in Ursula's domain forever. This version of the film gives more time to the relationship between Ariel and Eric, and features a deeper focus on the characters and the underwater kingdom.
