In a world where illusion and madness intertwine, an ambitious magician named Corky, recently emerged from a career failure, returns to his hometown to try to restart his life. However, his return is anything but peaceful. Corky, portrayed by Anthony Hopkins, is haunted by his past and, to complicate matters, he brings with him a disturbing companion: a ventriloquist dummy named Fats, whose dark and manipulative personality begins to take control of Corky.

As Corky's fame grows thanks to his hypnotic tricks and the performance of his unsettling puppet, so does his emotional instability. Launching into a relationship with his former girlfriend, a free spirit named Peggy, Corky faces an internal struggle as Fats starts to influence his love life and career in unexpected and terrifying ways. Tensions rise, and what initially seemed like a dream of success turns into a nightmare of jealousy, paranoia, and madness.

With an eerie atmosphere and a hint of psychological horror, the film delves into the mind of a man caught between his desire to be loved and the manipulation of his own creation. As the line between reality and fiction blurs, the explosive climax reveals how far Corky is willing to go to regain control of his life while his world crumbles around him.
