In this charming comedy of errors, a young woman named Susan Applegate finds herself caught in a complicated situation. After losing her job in New York and feeling overwhelmed by her problems, Susan decides to flee back home. To avoid the difficulties of traveling alone, she disguises herself as a teenager and boards a train to her hometown. However, her plan gets complicated when she meets Navy Lieutenant Colonel Philip Kirby, who mistakes her for a student.

As the story unfolds, the chemistry between Susan and the lieutenant becomes apparent. Susan tries to maintain her disguise while feeling increasingly drawn to the officer, who is unaware of her true identity. With clever humor and absurd situations, Susan becomes embroiled in a whirlwind of misunderstandings, unexpected encounters, and romantic comedy.

The antics continue as other characters are added to the mix, amplifying the chaos and confusion surrounding Susan's true age and intentions. Alternating between moments of tenderness and laughter, the film explores themes of love, identity, and the unexpected turns life can take.

In the end, Susan faces the tough choice of continuing with her facade or being honest about who she really is. With a surprising conclusion, this comedy serves as a reminder that sometimes love and happiness can be found in the most unlikely places.
