In this poignant romantic comedy, we delve into the life of Rose, a university mathematics professor with an unconventional view of love. After several romantic disappointments, she decides she is ready for a relationship without the burden of passion, so she embarks on a typical marriage arrangement but without romance with Greg, a somewhat insecure and lonely colleague who has also faced his share of failures in love.

As their lives intertwine, Rose and Greg try to create a connection based on friendship and understanding, setting aside physical attraction. However, what began as an experiment becomes more complicated when they both start to develop genuine feelings for each other. The dynamics between them intensify when jealousy and doubt arise, challenging their original pact.

With a cast including Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges, the film dives into the human desire for connection and the struggle to embrace our insecurities. The academic setting of the story also adds a humorous twist as the characters face their own love dilemmas in a world where relationships are a puzzle.

Ultimately, this film offers a reflection on the true nature of love and the beauty of accepting ourselves as we are, making it clear that sometimes, the deepest love blossoms in the most unexpected places.
