After World War II, a nurse named Susanne returns to Berlin, a devastated city filled with shadows. Along her journey, she crosses paths with a former soldier, a man deeply scarred by the horrors of war and guilt. When they meet, their lives intertwine in unexpected ways that lead them to confront the ghosts of the past.

Susanne, who is trying to rebuild her life and help others, cannot avoid feeling the sadness and unease that surrounds them. The city is an echo of suffering and desolation, where survivors grapple with loss and pain. Her encounter with the former soldier, who lives tormented and isolated, triggers a series of reflections on humanity, guilt, and the search for redemption.

Together, they decide to investigate a dark secret that threatens to come to light, a crime that reveals the deep scars of war that still remain. In their quest, their respective personal stories emerge, showing how each deals with the weight of their choices. The film addresses complex themes such as guilt, justice, and the struggle to regain hope in a shattered world, offering viewers a poignant glimpse into the fight for normalcy amid chaos. With a striking visual style and an emotional narrative, the story challenges the audience to question what redemption truly means and whether it is possible to find it in such a divided world.
