In a cold, gray Italian city, a public official named Antonio Burdi leads a monotonous and emotionless life. His job in a government office becomes his daily routine, filled with paperwork and contempt from his superiors. Despite his efforts to stay out of trouble, everyone around him treats him with indifference, leaving him feeling like a ghost in his own life.

Everything changes when, after receiving an unexpected bonus, Antonio decides to buy himself a new coat, a status symbol that makes him the center of attention. However, this new coat not only attracts glances but also complications. On one fateful day, the coat becomes a trap that leads him to a series of absurd and bewildering misadventures. In his attempt to stand out in his surroundings, Antonio finds himself caught in a cruel game that reveals the hypocrisy of society and forces him to confront his own loneliness.

As he struggles to find his place in a world that seems to ignore him, Antonio must decide between the desire to be accepted and the need to be authentic. This story becomes a bitter comedy about the search for identity and the fight for dignity in a system that dehumanizes individuals. As it unfolds, Antonio's character transforms, facing his inner demons and unmasking the harsh reality of urban life in his time.
