In a not-so-distant future, humanity faces an apocalyptic threat: giant monsters known as Kaiju emerge from a dimensional rift at the bottom of the ocean. To combat these monstrous creatures, an innovative military program is created that utilizes gigantic mechas called Jaegers, piloted by pairs of humans who share a mental connection through a neural link. However, despite the impressive technology, the fight is uneven, and the ground defense forces begin to lose ground.
Among the few surviving pilots is Raleigh Becket, who has had to deal with the loss of his partner.
