In the 1930s, a charismatic con artist named Moses Pray crosses paths with a little girl named Addie Loggins, who becomes his unexpected partner in mischief. After he shows up at her mother's funeral, Addie realizes Moses's skills in the art of deception and decides to join him in his life of fraud. Although she is initially reluctant to form an alliance, she quickly discovers that she has a remarkable knack for swindles and soon becomes the star of the duo.

The two travel through the American Midwest in search of new opportunities to con unsuspecting victims, leaving a trail of deceptions in their wake. While Moses tries to stay out of trouble, Addie demonstrates a surprising talent for manipulating their targets. However, as the scams become bolder, their relationship deepens as well, revealing a complex bond that challenges their wandering lives.

Along the way, they encounter quirky characters that add a touch of humor and unexpected challenges, making their journey both fun and emotional. As their tricks escalate, so do the questions about loyalty, family, and what it really means to trust someone. This heartfelt story combines the wit of a road movie with the tender development of a relationship that could change everything.
