In this charming romantic comedy from 1938, we meet a bold young woman named Alice, who finds herself trapped in a world of expectations and social conventions. Alice is a free-spirited travel journalist, and when she embarks on an assignment overseas, she crosses paths with a charming but carefree man named Paul. He is an eternal dreamer who has lived as a nomad, enjoying life without ties.

When the two meet, the game of life and love takes an unexpected turn. Alice comes up with the brilliant idea that by marrying in a foreign country, she can sidestep the restrictions imposed by society. However, as romance begins to blossom and they get caught up in a series of comedic entanglements, both Alice and Paul are forced to confront the reality of what love and commitment truly mean.

Things get complicated when Alice’s family starts to inquire about her new "husband." In a hilarious twist, Paul is compelled to play the role of the ideal husband in front of Alice's conservative family, while she tries to keep at bay the doubts that begin to arise. With their wit and chemistry, the couple struggles to find a balance between their spontaneous life and the expectations of others, leading us to a conclusion that redefines their concept of true love and authenticity.
