Holly is a teenager who feels trapped in a chaotic family life. Her mother, a single woman who has had a series of disastrous boyfriends, changes partners as quickly as she changes clothes. Tired of seeing her mother get disappointed time and time again, Holly decides it's time to take action and create the perfect man for her. With the help of her best friend, Holly embarks on a mission to invent an ideal suitor: someone who is smart, charming, and, above all, someone who can provide her mother with the stability she lacks.
Using a pseudonym, Holly starts an email exchange with her mother, creating a bond that seems genuine. However, things get complicated when her mother begins to fall in love with this fictional man.
