In this intense and moving story set in the 19th century, we follow the life of a doctor named Samuel Mudd. After a fateful night, he becomes entangled in a conspiracy following the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Although Mudd only provided assistance to an injured man, his good deed costs him more than he imagined. He is arrested and sentenced to prison on a remote island surrounded by relentless waters, where the weather and environment are as hostile as the men who share his captivity.

The plot delves into Samuel's day-to-day life as he faces not only the struggle for survival in extreme conditions but also the prejudices and harassment from his fellow prisoners. As the story progresses, Mudd proves to be an exceptional doctor and begins to earn the loyalty of those who initially see him as a traitor. His ingenuity and compassion are put to the test when an outbreak of yellow fever starts affecting the prisoners, unleashing a storm of chaos and suspicion.

The film explores themes of redemption, injustice, and the struggle for survival in a hostile environment, all accompanied by an atmosphere of tension that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat. Through Mudd's eyes, an emotional journey unfolds that reveals the human capacity for sacrifice and kindness, even in the darkest moments.
