The Right to Life

In a small French village during World War I, daily life is interrupted by the sound of gunfire and widespread mourning. The story follows Pierre, a dedicated doctor who has decided to stay in his hometown to help the wounded arriving from the front. Despite the constant threat of bombings and shortages of resources, Pierre strives to save as many lives as possible, facing the difficult decision of who deserves medical attention in such a critical environment.

Meanwhile, young Isabelle, a nurse and Pierre's childhood friend, returns to the village after working in a field hospital. Together, the pair unites in their mission to help, but they encounter continual obstacles: military bureaucracy, scarcity of supplies, and, most painfully, the tough choices regarding the life and death of the injured soldiers arriving. As the tension escalates and the ravages of war feel closer, Pierre and Isabelle find solace in a relationship that blossoms amid the chaos.

With a deeply emotional tone, the film explores the sacrifices and bravery of those on the front lines, both in the battlefield and in the emergency room. Through the eyes of Pierre and Isabelle, the film invites viewers to reflect on the value of life in times of war and the profound human desire to survive and love, even in the most desperate circumstances.
