In a small and isolated town in the southern United States, a farming family struggles to maintain their way of life in the face of adversity. The story follows a young man named Tom, who, with determination in his heart and the weight of family expectations on his shoulders, finds himself caught between working on the farm and his dreams of a different future. His father, a man of strong principles and great passion, faces a devastating drought and mounting debts, increasingly pressuring his family.

As tensions rise, the mother, strong yet exhausted, becomes the emotional pillar of the family, trying to keep hope afloat. At the same time, misunderstandings and conflicts among household members intensify. A ray of hope appears when Tom decides to participate in a fishing competition, filled with symbolism and rivalry, where he aims not only to prove his skill but also to restore to his family the faith and unity they are losing.

As the story unfolds, the internal struggles of each character are revealed, along with their love for the land and water, and how each one finds their way through adversity. Amid the fight for survival and the pursuit of dreams, the family must discover what it truly means to hold onto what they value, even as the currents of life threaten to sweep them away. With a touch of hope and redemption, the film explores familial bonds and the indomitable struggle of the human spirit.
