In a small, claustrophobic room, Jack has lived his entire life with his mother. Since his birth, this space has been all he knows, a closed and safe world where he and his mother have created a rhythm of life based on routine, imagination, and love. However, the reality surrounding them is much darker: Ma has been kidnapped, and this room is the only place Jack has known for seven years.
As Jack grows, he begins to question the outside world, and Ma uses all her ingenuity to teach him about life, disguising the cruel truth to protect his innocence. Everything changes when Ma decides it's time to escape. With a risky plan, they manage to get out, but freedom comes with its own challenges. Jack must face a new world, filled with strangers, noises, and colors he's never seen before. While Ma struggles to reintegrate into the outside life, Jack tests his relationship with her and the reality he now has to learn to navigate.
Throughout their journey, mother and son must learn to cope with the trauma of the past and find their place in a world that seems overwhelming and, at times, unwelcoming. With an emotionally poignant mix of hope, discovery, and love, this story is a touching portrait of the bond between a mother and her son in unimaginable circumstances.
