In a small village in Wales, a man with simple principles and a huge heart finds himself caught in a monotonous routine, working as a gardener at a school for young people with special needs. His life takes an unexpected turn when a new headmaster arrives at the school and awakens feelings he thought were long forgotten. This romance intertwines with his relationship with a talented but troubled student, a young man with an incredible gift for music, who struggles to overcome his own personal demons.

The story focuses on the connection between the gardener and the student, who, through ups and downs and misunderstandings, discover the value of mentorship, friendship, and the search for identity. While the gardener faces his own fears of not being enough, the young man sees him as a father figure, someone who believes in his potential. Both must battle their insecurities and the past that haunts them.

The arrival of the headmaster puts traditional values and teaching methods into question, and tensions rise, leading them to reconsider what success and happiness truly mean. In a climate of vulnerability and personal growth, the protagonists seek their place in the world, confronting the reality that sometimes being second best can be more than enough. A moving story about second chances, unconditional love, and the transformative power of music.
