In the vibrant yet unsettling setting of New York City, a young woman named Mary Gibson finds herself on a desperate quest for her missing sister, Jacqueline. At first, Mary believes her sister has simply lost herself in the bohemian lifestyle of the city, but as she delves deeper into this dark web of secrets, she begins to uncover a disturbing truth. The search leads her to an unusual cult of worshippers who engage in strange rituals, and gradually, she realizes that Jacqueline is part of something far more sinister than she had imagined.

Accompanied by an intriguing yet enigmatic man named James, whose interest in Mary fluctuates between protection and manipulation, the tension rises as the young woman immerses herself further into her sister's world. As Mary confronts the horror of the conspiracy and the cults surrounding Jacqueline, she must decide whom to trust and what price she is willing to pay to uncover the truth. The film intertwines mystery and horror with touches of film noir, prompting the viewer to question the nature of love and loyalty in an environment that consistently feels composed of shadows.

With an oppressive atmosphere and an intricate plot, Mary must face not only her pursuers but also her own fears and the harsh realities of urban life in the 20th century.
