In a quiet coastal village, a young woman named Joan lives with her family in a mansion that has witnessed the emotional ups and downs of her ancestors. As the community begins to organize a charity ball, Joan feels caught between her family's expectations and her desire to follow her own path. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious yet charismatic outsider arrives, an artist with a free spirit who quickly captures her attention.

The tension between duty and desire intensifies as Joan plunges into a passionate and risky romance with the outsider. Meanwhile, her family attempts to protect her from what they consider a destructive influence, fearing that their plans for Joan are threatened. As the grand ball approaches, the young woman must confront the harsh reality of her choices and discover what she truly wants in life.

The story explores themes such as the search for identity, the struggle between love and family responsibility, and the quest for happiness in a world that often seems to impose limits. With captivating performances and evocative cinematography, this film captures both the beauty and the anguish of a young heart striving to break free from the chains of expectations. Will Joan choose to follow her own path, or will she settle for a future designed by others?
