In a not-so-distant future, an astronaut named Kris Kelvin is sent to a space station orbiting a mysterious planet known as Solaris. The mission is to investigate a series of strange phenomena affecting the crew and their interactions. However, upon arrival, Kris finds that reality is much more unsettling than he expected. The planet seems to possess a form of intelligence that can materialize people's memories and desires, causing emotional and psychological chaos among the station's members.
As Kris confronts figures from his past, especially the manifestation of his beloved, he must grapple with the guilt and fears he could never overcome. The experience leads him to question the nature of love, solitude, and what it truly means to be human. As the boundaries between reality and illusion blur, Kris finds himself trapped in a labyrinth of memories that push him to confront his own inner demons. Each encounter with his beloved brings him closer to the dilemma of leaving the past behind or surrendering to the desire for a second chance, even if it is created by a force he does not understand. With a poetic and visually stunning atmosphere, the film encompasses deep themes about memory, longing, and human connection in the midst of the unknown. The tension between desire and reality raises unavoidable questions about life, death, and what we truly value.
