In a small town in Oregon, a family of lumberjacks faces tough times as their community is shaken by a labor strike. The Stampers, known for their strong work ethic and indomitable spirit, find themselves divided between loyalty to their family and the tension caused by the workers' fight for better conditions. Hank Stamper, the rebellious son, grapples with his own dilemma when he decides to continue working in the timber industry despite his family's opposition. As Hank deals with the pressure from his relatives, his older brother, Joe, reinforces the idea of standing firm and fighting for the right to work, triggering an emotional clash that drives them further apart.

The plot unfolds in a landscape of raw beauty, where nature serves as a backdrop reflecting the characters' internal struggles. Over time, tensions escalate, and each family member's decisions lead to tragic consequences and an unexpected outcome. The film explores themes of identity, the complexity of family relationships, and the struggle between tradition and change. Amidst a deep conflict, the story reveals the essence of the human spirit as the Stampers discover that sometimes true strength lies in unity and solidarity, even when circumstances seem to be against them.
