In a post-World War I world, a young woman escapes her monotonous home in search of a more exciting and authentic life. Disguised as a boy, Sylvia joins a mischievous thief named Jimmy, who lures her into a world of deception and antics. With her wit and charm, Sylvia manages to adapt to her new life, but she also grapples with the confusion of her identity amidst her journey.

As the pair becomes embroiled in a series of escapades and scams, Sylvia finds herself torn between the freedom of living as a man and the yearning to be a woman in a world that doesn't always offer her opportunities. The game of disguise becomes more complicated when they cross paths with a group of aristocrats, leading to unexpected problems in their relationship. As Sylvia begins to fall for an intriguing young man from the group, she must decide whether to continue her act or risk everything to reveal her true identity.

With a mix of romance, comedy, and drama, the story explores themes of self-discovery, the struggle for independence, and the dilemmas of gender identity in a strict society. As the bonds between the characters deepen, Sylvia will have to confront her desires and the realities of a world that turns love into a dangerous game. In the end, she will find the courage to strip away her disguises and face her own heart.
