In a small town in the northwestern United States during the 1940s, a group of men faces the difficult task of felling and processing the wood from the vast forests that surround them. Among them stands out a young idealist who dreams of changing the world around him. However, his vision clashes with the harsh reality of life in the sawmill. The film follows his personal struggle as he confronts the greed of a ruthless timber magnate, who will stop at nothing to maximize his profits, even if it means ruining the local ecosystem and destroying the lives of those who depend on it.

As tensions rise, the young man finds support among his fellow workers, who also seek to improve their working conditions. Loyalty and camaraderie are tested in a conflict that pits the workers against corporate power. In the midst of the chaos, a love story emerges that offers a respite from despair, intertwining the challenges of labor struggles with the beauty of human relationships.

Set against the backdrop of stunning natural landscapes and featuring a strong social critique, this gripping story reflects the struggles of an era when industrialization began to have a significant impact on life and the environment, inviting the viewer to reflect on the balance between progress and sustainability.
